YPI in the United Kingdom and the United States

YPI is growing! There are over 40,000 students participating annually in Canada, the United Kingdom and the United States.

YPI in Canada

YPI was founded in Canada in 2002 by the Toskan Casale Foundation. Since its pilot year at Royal St.George's College, Toronto, it has grown to be delivered in hundreds of schools across Canada. The success of the Canadian program led to the Institute for Philanthropy taking it on in the United Kingdom.

YPI in the United Kingdom

Thanks to incredible partnerships with the Institute for Philanthropy and the Wood Family Trust, YPI is currently part of the curriculum in 103 secondary schools in England and Scotland. In 2007, YPI was launched as a pilot program at 10 London schools. YPI is a groundbreaking initiative that continues to grow on the other side of the Atlantic. Since its pilot year in the UK, over 16,000 young people have participated in YPI and have raised awareness of hundreds of local charities.

YPI in the United States

Drawing on the success of its pilot year at New York City's Marymount School, YPI continues to grow in the Big Apple. With the initiative expanding to several New York City schools as it enters its second year in the United States, hundreds of students now have the opportunity to make a difference to community-based, grassroots charities and the people they serve.

YPI is quickly carving out a strong international presence. It's our goal to ensure that as many schools as possible partake in the YPI experience worldwide, creating an ever-growing pool of educated young philanthropists who will take what they've learned through YPI to help countless communities across the globe.
